Bicentennial Man

This movie came out a while ago and damn, I'm sorry I didn't see it sooner. It's got kind of the same themes as AI: a robot tries to become human and at the end of his journey whether you think he's achieve humanity or not doesn't matter. He's found love and happiness, and that's enough. But AI sucked.

Bicentennial Man was really incredible. The movie was as visually appealing as it was touching. Robin Williams played Andrew, so named when "Little Miss" (the youngest daughter of his owner) mispronounces android. That sets the premise for the first half of Andrew's life. As he grows and "evolves" in response to those around him. Eventually he decides that's not enough. He asks "Sir" (his owner) for his freedom and begins his own life; guided buy his own sense of destiny.

There's so many good things to say that I'm afraid If I start I'll spoil the whole thing. Suffice to say I smiled through all of it and teared up at the end. If you've already seen it maybe you should watch it again. If not, buy it. I'm going to.
